Lisiti Langa Raffle Draw enters third week with a bang
The ongoing EFD ‘Lisiti Langa’ Raffle Draw entered its third week on Friday 1st June with more entries on record.
During a media briefing at Msonkho House head offices in Blantyre, after the draw, MRA’s Head of Corporate Affairs Steven Kapoloma said entries during the third week has increased enormously.
“This week we have recorded over 46,926 entries, up from the 21,508 entries in the second week. This is a clear indication that more and more consumers are becoming responsive to the culture of demanding receipts.
“It is certain that as more consumers are taking their responsibility to demand EFD receipts, the MRA will be able to account for the Value Added Tax (VAT) that consumers pay for Malawi’s development,” he said.
Kapoloma encouraged consumers to demand an EFD receipt and use it to participate in the promotion.
“If a consumer ignores to collect his or her receipt at a security check point then it means the security personnel will be the ones using the receipts to enter the raffle draw to win. It is for this reason that I urge all consumers to avoid leaving their receipts with security personnel at shop checkpoints so that they do not miss out to win in the raffle draws.
He further reminded participants that each entry in the promotion still stands a chance to win the grand prizes of K2 million cash among other prizes at the end of the promotion.
During the draw 6 lucky winners got away with K50, 000 cash each, 4 consumers won cellphones per entry, 6 customers won a bicycle each, 8 people getting solar lamps and 10 participants won branded T-shirts apiece. In addition, 12 winners got K5,000 cash while another group of 50 went away with K2,000 worth of airtime.
Entry into the promotion is just by dialing *915*5# for both Airtel and TNM numbers through submission of the serial and receipt numbers of an EFD receipt. The basic rule is that a receipt can only enter once.
The promotion is running for the next three months up to July 27.
