The Malawi Defence Force (MDF) has appealed to the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) to intensify taxpayer education among its units across the country.
The appeal was made by the Finance Officer of the Malawi Airforce in the MDF, Major Martha Wema Mauwa, in Lilongwe during a long-day sensitization meeting that targeted accounts staff from the MDF.
Major Mauwa highlighted that since all their transactions are centrally done, it would be ideal if all units were made aware to understand the tax system in Malawi.
She, therefore, commended MRA for holding the meeting with them, adding that the information and knowledge gained would enable the MDF handle their transactions within the ambit of the law.
