The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) continues to be actively engaged in environmental conservation efforts. This has been demonstrated on Friday 16th February 2024, when MRA planted 2,000 trees on Soche Mountain.
The Deputy Commissioner General, Henry Ngutwa, emphasized the critical role of tree planting in combating deforestation and its detrimental effects, including environmental degradation and its impact on the local economy, including reduced tax revenue due to business disruption resulting from natural disasters such as cyclone Freddy.

Group village headman Misesa also underscored the significance of tree conservation and the need for community ownership and responsibility in the efforts.
MRA conducts tree planting exercises annually, with this year's initiative aiming to plant over 6000 trees across the country.
