Convenience at hand! Experience MRA’S Document Validation

In this information age, the Malawi Revenue Authority is deploying all means of technology to ensure no one should struggle to access services.

MRA is automating its services to give taxpayers options to promptly pay taxes and even verify with the Authority the validity of tax documents using an array of platforms.

One such tool, is the Document Validation System, it does not matter whether one is within or outside Malawi to verify authenticity of MRA documents.

In view of this, the Head of Corporate Affairs, Steven Kapoloma, recently said that the facility is aimed at validating the originality and authenticity of documents issued by the Authority. He has since called upon businesses and people in the country not to be blindfolded into using members unverified tax documents.

“We are moving with time to serve Malawi better and our appeal is that everyone should not just accept MRA documents. You need to authenticate them.’’

The Document Validation System is meant to improve efficiency of MRA’s processes and the use of  the service is free 

Validation features on the documents are a Quick Response (QR) code and a 14-digit number. Those in need can scan using a QR Code mobile app and it displays the URL for the document details.

The validation platform is also accessible on the MRA  website: http://www.mra.mw/validation/ You can also dial *915# using Airtel or TNM mobile phones and follow a series of instructions to verify your documents.

The Document Validation System and the introduction of E-Payment led to ICT professionals in the country awarding MRA as the Most Innovating entity in the public sector.
