First weekly draw of "Lisiti Langa Promotion" conducted
The first draw for‘Lisiti Langa’ EFD Raffle Draw was conducted on the morning of Friday 18th May 2018 and saw over 100 prizes being awarded to entrants of the first week of the draw that was launched on the 11th May 2018
During the draw 6 lucky winners got away with K50,000 each, others won 4 cellphones per entry, another group of 6 won a bicycle each, with other entries getting 8 solar lamps and 10 branded T-shirts apiece. In addition, 12 winners got K5,000 cash while another group of 50 went away with K2,000 worth of airtime.
In his address, on behalf of the Commissioner General, MRA’s Head of Corporate Affairs Steven Kapoloma said the promotion has recorded 6,819 entries during the first week.
He congratulated all the winners and commended all consumers in the country who have shown dedication in not only demanding EFD receipts but also entering into the promotion.
“There is no limit to the number of EFD receipts that one can enter. More receipts, more entries and more prizes. Therefore, MRA is urging members of the general public to demand EFD receipts when purchasing taxable items from VAT registered businesses.
“The prizes in the promotion are numerous and they are meant to be won. So demand your EFD receipt and enter to be amongst the many Malawians who will win from now up to July 27 this year,” Kapoloma said.
MRA’s Manager, Marketing Communication Wilma Chalulu called some of the winners who expressed joy to have emerged triumphant in the inaugural draw.
“I was all peaceful from yesterday and even slept without being bothered by bad dreams, your call explains it all that the peace was coming from this luck. Thank you MRA for the competition and I will continue to submit more entries,” said Bernard Kulapani from Mzuzu who won one of the bicycles.
Entry into the EFD Lisiti Langa Raffle Draw is by dialling *915*5# on Airtel or TNM numbers. An individual only needs to submit the serial and receipt numbers of an EFD receipt. The basic rule is that a receipt can only enter once.
The promotion started on May 11 and it will run for the next three months up to July 27 this year with supervision from the National Lotteries Board.
MRA has since advised members of the general not to be cheated by anyone as winners will not need to pay anything to claim their prize. The Authority says the winning numbers will be published in the newspapers and winners will be contacted directly to be advised about where to collect their prize.
