Malawi’s ITAS solution brands to Msonkho Online
Malawi’s Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) solution, a computer system that automates end-to-end tax processes, will now be called Msonkho Online.
This follows the announcement of results of a national branding competition organized by Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA).
The competition sought to identify the Best Name, Best Logo and Best Tagline for ITAS which is a generic name Msonkho Online is the Best Name and two winners Funsani Scander and Dumisani Manda will receive K500,000 each.
The winning logo bears the same name as Msonkho Online and it was designed by Scander who will walk away with an additional K800,000 for the Best Logo.
The Best Tagline is “Tax Made Simple” and the winners Masia Walita, Mark Chimaliro and Steve Pakaine will receive K300,000 each.
The Competition was open from 1st August, 2017 to 8th September, 2017 for both members of staff and members of the general public.
A total of 490 entries were received, comprising 150 from members of staff and 340 from members of the general public.
An evaluation committee made up of both MRA and external experts reviewed the entries to the competition and recommended the winners to MRA management.
In a public notice published in the media, Commissioner General Tom Gray Malata expressed gratitude to all people who participated in the branding competition.
“The response to the competition was over-whelming considering the hundreds of entries which were submitted,” he said.
MRA is implementing Msonkho Online to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in managing tax compliance and taxpayer services by improving and automating business processes in the Domestic Taxes Division (DTD).
