The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has commended the outgoing MRA Board of Directors for the milestones the Authority has achieved in the past three years of their tenure.
Speaking during a farewell dinner in Lilongwe, MRA’s Commissioner General, John Biziwick, acknowledged the Board as one of the most visionary teams that MRA has ever had in recent times for taking the Authority to greater heights since 2022.
“Let
me register my appreciation here that during your tenure, MRA has achieved so
much. When you assumed office in 2020/21, the Authority registered a revenue
collection performance of 103%, beating the target for the first time in almost
five years,’’ observed Biziwick.

Let me also mention that during your three years in office, the Authority has met its revenue target twice and only missed the target for 2021/22 financial year, but still recorded a 19% nominal growth, added Biziwick.
‘’This is no mean achievement as it was still the highest over a five-year period,” enthused Biziwick.
In his remarks, the Board Chairperson, Vizenge Kumwenda, said he was proud to have been part of the successful journey and urged MRA to keep up the good work that the Authority was doing.
