More enter, win in the ‘Lisiti Langa Promotion’
Members of the general public are showing increasing interest to participate in the ongoing EFD ‘Lisiti Langa’ Raffle Draw. This was revealed at the promotion’s second draw.
Briefing the media at Msonkho House head offices in Blantyre, where the draw was conducted, MRA’s Manager for Marketing Communications Wilma Chalulu said entries during the second has increased three-fold.
“We have recorded over 21,508 entries in the second week, up from the 6,819 entries in the first week. This is a positive development to us as it means we are inculcating a culture of demanding receipts by consumers in the country.
“Overall, more people are taking their responsibility to demand EFD receipts ensuring that Value Added Tax (VAT) is accounted for,” she said.
One of the winners, James Yobu from Chitakale said he is proud that a patriotic commitment in VAT collection has earned him a bicycle.
Blessings Mwamwande, a Blantyre resident who came to collect a cellphone won from last week’s draw, said receipts assist to prove that a transaction indeed took place.
He has since urged others to enter and a stand a chance to win the numerous prizes that that are up for grab in the EFD ‘Lisiti Langa’ Raffle Draw.
During the draw 6 lucky winners got away with K50,000 each, others won 4 cellphones per entry, another group of 6 won a bicycle each, with other entries getting 8 solar lamps and 10 branded T-shirts apiece. In addition, 12 winners got K5,000 cash while another group of 50 went away with K2,000 worth of airtime.
Entry into the promotion is just by dialling *915*5# for both Airtel and TNM numbers through submission of the serial and receipt numbers of an EFD receipt. The basic rule is that a receipt can only enter once.
The promotion is running for the next three months up to July 27.
