Taxpayers throng E-payments clinic in Blantyre
Many curious taxpayers on Wednesday, 5th October 2017 attended the live demonstrations about E-payments of taxes conducted by the Malawi Revenue Authority in Blantyre.
The E-payments is offering various benefits like instant update of taxpayer’s accounts and ease of reconciliations with the taxpayer enjoying the freedom to pay taxes anywhere and at any time.
Led by E-payments Project Manager, Tiya Somba Banda, the team from MRA had various sessions to showcase how easy and convenient the system is while also providing clarification on concerns raised by the taxpayers.
“MRA’s intention is to reduce the time taken by taxpayers when it comes to filling forms and queueing up to pay tax. The Authority is mandated to facilitate trade and time is of great value in the cost of doing business. E-payment is, therefore, the right platform to settle one’s tax liabilities in time and without the hassles of running late,” he said.
Access to the system is done using MRA’s website: www.mra.mw under the MyTax Online tab.
The MRA team will proceed to conduct other E-payments clinics in Lilongwe at Crossroads Hotel and Mzuzu Sunbird Hotel on Monday 9th October 2017 and Wednesday 11th October 2017 respectively.
For those who missed out the Blantyre clinic, another clinic will be conducted next week Friday, the 13th of October 2017.
