Daniel is a seasoned tax legal practitioner with over 20 years of
management experience. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of
Western Cape in South Africa, in collaboration with Germany’s
Humboldt-Universität, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting from the
International Law Institute in Uganda, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Honours)
from the University of Malawi.
Daniel is certified by various prestigious global institutions in
areas such as Value Added Tax, Legislative Drafting of Tax Laws, Fiscal Law,
Corporate Governance, International Taxation, Money Laundering, and
Arbitration. Throughout his career he has held several key positions within the
Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) and the Ministry of Finance, including Acting
Board Secretary, Chief Legal Counsel, and Deputy Director of Tax
Investigations.
Most recently, Daniel served as the Director of Legal Services at
the Treasury (Ministry of Finance) since 2022. His extensive expertise in legal
affairs and tax administration continues to be a significant asset in his
professional endeavors.
