The
Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) in collaboration with the Technical,
Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) has conducted
a series of countrywide sensitisation meetings, in preparation for the rollout
of the Tevet Levy Assessment Online Portal.
The
online portal is expected to go live from 1st November, 2024,
The sensitisation
meetings, aimed to educate levy payers about the functionality and benefits of
the new online portal, took place in major cities including Blantyre, Zomba,
Lilongwe, and Mzuzu from 21st October to 25th October
2024.
In his
opening remarks, MRA Non-Tax Revenue Officer Allan Nyalo introduced the Tevet
Levy Assessment Online Portal as a user-friendly platform designed to simplify
the experience for levy payers.
"The
portal will streamline and enhance the efficiency of the Tevet levy payment
processes, including the submission of Employer Data Forms, payments, and
account status checks," Nyalo said.
Representing
one of the participants, Presscane Limited’s Patricia Madzedze expressed
gratitude for the proactive approach taken by MRA and TEVETA.
"The
training provided prior to the implementation of the portal will greatly ease
the transition process. We are now familiar with the system, and come November
1, 2024, we will approach this new mode of operation with greater
confidence," she remarked.
