IMPLEMENTATION OF ASYCUDA WORLD AT KIA

The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) is pleased to inform members of the business community and the public that ASYCUDA World will be implemented on 1st February, 2016 starting from Kamuzu International Airport (KIA). This follows successful piloting of the system at Chileka International Airport which commenced on 2nd November 2015.

Following the implementation, all Customs clearance transactions registered and processed on and after 1st February, 2016 at KIA will be on the upgraded ASYCUDA World platform. Transactions processed before the 1st of February, 2016 will continue to be finalized in ASYCUDA++. This will result in a gradual phase out of ASYCUDA++ system at KIA.

The implementation of the system at KIA will also result in Transit T1s to other stations being generated in ASYCUDA World. Meanwhile, the ASYCUDA World Project Team will be on hand to provide assistance in acquitting all ASYCUDA World Transit T1s that will arrive at different stations during the implementation period.

Please, take note that there will be occasional interruptions to clearance operations during the implementation period but these will be minimised.
